Infrared radiation

Nowadays life expectancy is much longer than it used to be and the cells in our skin and eyes need extra protection from radiation. 54% of infrared radiation comes from the sun. It has cumulative effects and can accelerate retinal and crystalline lens degeneration, causing cataracts. It also has a photothermal effect which increases the evaporation of tears, decreasing comfort.

And it is known that infrared radiation contributes to the destruction of collagen around the eyes, causing wrinkles in the skin.
